I love to decorate for Christmas…I enjoy it so much my tree
usually goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. It must be something about the
cold weather, hot chocolate and a cozy blanket that gets me in the Christmas
mood. My entire house gets transformed each year into a winter wonderland.
I was talking with the ladies in the office about Christmas
Trees and we talked about being a real tree or artificial tree person. I have
always had an artificial tree. I can remember one year when I was growing up
that we had a real tree….not sure why we did something different that year…but
I do remember the mess that tree made and how hard it was to put ornaments on
the tree and how you had to pick just the right branch for each ornament
because the heavy ornaments would not stay on any branch.
I still have my first Christmas tree…my college roommate and
I went in together on it when we had our first apartment together and when we
moved out I paid for her half and took the tree with me. It has had the same theme
for all these years…I’ve thought of changing it but I’m not sure what I would
change it too…so I found a way to update it without a lot of cost…the after
Christmas sales really help. I have
always had blue lights on my tree…If I remember
right my Great Grandparents used to have blue lights on their tree…one year I
added the white lights with the blue to brighten the tree up a bit…the next
year I added the snow flakes to add some sparkle and most recently the icicles
were added…so I have a blue, silver and white snowflake theme going on and that
is theme in
my entire house with the cute snowmen stuff I have in various
places.
