Texting and walking at the same time...impossible??
It looks like we know how to chew gum and walk at the same time BUT we can't text and walk at the same time. A study in the UK found that one in ten people actually managed to hurt themselves by walking into a post while writing a text message. They are calling it "walking and texting injuries". If that isn't funny enough now a street in London has a plan to launch the padded-post-pilot. No need to look at where I'm walking the padded post will protect me. What is going to keep me from getting run over by a car? Padded bumpers? Better yet...let's just wrap everything in bubble wrap so we can walk through life and not have to ever pay attention to anything around us ever again.
Now I must admit I cannot completely make fun of the people with "walking and texting injuries" because I have stumbled before on and uneven sidewalk while texting and walking my dog BUT I would not expect the city to put padding on the side walk because I did not pay attention to what I was doing. What is it going to take for us to be more responsible for our own actions and stop expecting the world to change things just for us? I like to know what you think. Is this crazy or am I the crazy one?
